Frequently asked questions about laser cutting & engraving

I don't have a vector file, just an image or a drawing: is that OK?
Get in touch and we'll discuss the possibilities. We can digitize simple designs, or point you to free tools to vectorize your image. Some raster designs can also work for engraving.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept vector files: .ai (Illustrator), .pdf, .svg, .eps, .dxf. For engraving, raster formats .png, .jpg, .svg are also accepted.
Which material should I choose?
It depends on your project: plywood or MDF for a natural decorative look, acrylic PMMA for a modern, transparent finish, veg-tan leather for premium accessories, cork for signage, felt for soft objects, cardboard for rapid prototyping. We're happy to advise.
Can you cut metal?
Our CO₂ laser is optimized for organic materials (wood, leather, cardboard) and PMMA. For metal, we recommend contacting a fiber laser cutting specialist.
Usual lead times?
Quote within 24h, production within 3-5 business days depending on complexity and workshop workload.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes! Pickup is available at the Vatimont workshop (Grand-Est). Coffee's on us!
Can you engrave photos?
Yes, we can engrave grayscale photos on plywood, MDF, leather or cork. Send us your best resolution (300 DPI minimum).
Is my file data confidential?
Your files are handled confidentially and will never be shared or reused without your consent.
